Celebrate the voices, languages, and poetic traditions of Eastern and Central Europe with a Poetry Salon, hosted by the Department of Russian and East European Studies.

Who: All Penn undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff.

What: Choose and read any poem or poetic text in any language of Eastern and Central Europe. Introduce the author in two sentences.

Language: If possible, you should present your poem both in the original language and in English translation. If you prefer to recite the poem in the English translation, a faculty member or native speaker in attendance can read the original.

Format: Recitation from memory is encouraged, but participants are also welcome to read from the page or screen.

Length: The selected poem shoul be no longer than one page.
