Presented by Quechua at Penn and Andean Representation
Experience the vibrant spirit of Carnaval, a celebration of indigenous Andean and Quechua traditions. Hosted by Quechua at Penn and Andean Representation, this event honors youth, family, Pachamama (Mother Earth), and the hope for a bountiful harvest. Enjoy live music by Inka Rayku, traditional folkloric dance performances by Ballet Folklórico Acuarelas Del Perú New York, and Peruvian cuisine. Josefina Navarro will also share insights on the deeper meaning behind our festivities.
More than just a celebration, Carnaval is a powerful expression of cultural pride and resilience. This is a powerful opportunity to celebrate cultural pride, resilience, and community. We welcome ALL to join us in honoring these traditions and sharing in the joy of Carnaval! Traditional clothing is encouraged.
