Rebirths, Returns, and Comebacks

StorySlam

Hosted by ASL advocate and performer Wink Smith, Jr.!

Join us as we celebrate the rich storytelling cultures of Philadelphia and of the ASL community! The Wolf Humanities Center’s first ever story slam will feature stories told in both spoken English and American Sign Language, with interpreters making stories accessible to everyone. In keeping with the Wolf Humanities Center’s 2017-18 theme of Afterlives, and to mark the arrival of spring, the stories will all tell of rebirths, renewals, and miraculous comebacks.

Featuring storytellers from both Penn and the greater Philadelphia area, including First Person Arts' “Best Storyteller in Philadelphia” and three-time Audience Favorite, Sara Ray.
