Sex: A History in 30 Objects

Penn Museum Exhibition

Objects from ancient Greece, Iran, Samoa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Tibet, the Americas, and elsewhere form the basis of this small exhibition, which highlights the different ways that societies across time have approached sexuality and identity.

Presented in association with the Penn Humanities 2015-2016 Forum on Sex, as well as the 50th anniversary of Reminder Day in Philadelphia, commemorating the earliest organized, recurring demonstrations of the LGBTQ civil rights movement in America.
