(2008, dir. Patrick Comer, 40 min.)

Speaker: Joseph Lennon, Associate Professor of Irish Studies, Villanova; and Vicki Brady, Irish Fulbright scholar

Comedian Des Bishop, who hails from Queens, New York, is one of Ireland’s most prominent Irish-American personalities who has made it his mission to revitalize the Irish language. In this episode from Irish National TV, Bishop chronicles the year he spent living in Connemara and learning the Irish/Gaelic language.  “Can I learn the lingo in a year, he asks? “Can I make ‘em laugh in our native tongue?”
